The Journey Behind Crumbs


I’m Ume Ali Farhan, and this bakery was born from a journey close to my heart. Alhamdolilah, I am a graduate of Fine Arts from the University of Punjab, and more profoundly, a blessed mom.

My path took an unexpected turn when I lost my only daughter to Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) in 2012. In the years that followed, through the quiet solace of home and the long process of healing, I found comfort in the patient, slow craft of baking. That personal sanctuary in my kitchen eventually grew into something more, and our micro sourdough bakery came to life in Lahore in 2021.

Sourdough requires time, presence, and gentle care—qualities that gave me a sense of peace. Today, my background in fine arts guides the hand-shaped beauty of every loaf, while my heart as a mother ensures that everything we bake is wholesome, nourishing, and made with pure love.

Thank you for supporting our craft and welcoming a piece of my journey into your homes. For me, baking is an art form and a labor of love. We don’t use shortcuts or commercial additives here because I believe in feeding our community with the same integrity and care I would give my own family. Thank you for being a part of our story.
